Special Events
Kassel is a city with a wide choice of artistic, cultural and special events. The Special Events’ Department at kassel tourist is responsible for organising the major attractions that ensure the city centre remains a vibrant and lively place as well as heightening the city’s profile at national level.
In addition to the biggest event of all, the traditional Fairy-Tale Christmas Market held in the city centre, there is the light and water festival in the Wilhelmshöhe Berg Park that runs throughout the summer, the fringe programme supporting Kassel’s Museum Night, the Casseler Freyheit (Freedom of the City) every last Sunday in October as well as circus performances at special venues throughout the city.
