The collection contains among other things Dutch landscape drawings from the 17th century, works by artists from Kassel’s art academy from the 18th and 19th century as well as post-1945 samples of German expressionism and abstraction.

Melancholia by Dürer In addition, comprehensive groups of works by individual artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Hendrick Goltzius and Jacques Callot have been purchased. With the hand drawings, the main emphasis is on Dutch art of the 17th century. A comprehensive collection of architectural drawings is also on show.
