CARICATURA – Gallery for Comic Art

In 1997 the KulturBahnhof provided the starting-point for the documenta-Parcours in addition to being registered in the same year as a worldwide EXPO 2000 project.
For the last 17 years, the CARICATURA has been holding successful exhibitions and displays of work relating to caricatures and cartoons, literary criticism and comic strips, thereby contributing to making Kassel an important museum of satire in Germany.
In the KulturBahnhof the CARICATURA runs Germany’s only gallery for comical art, displaying five different exhibitions of work a year in a 200m² venue where the best-known artists in the industry present their work to the public. In general, exhibitions are backed up by a comprehensive supporting programme.
14 productions are now also available for booking as travelling exhibitions.
