Brothers Grimm museum
(Brüder Grimm-Museum)
The collections include documents on the life and work of the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in connection with their literary and scholarly research as well as their political activities.
A large section is devoted to the works of Ludwig Emil Grimm, the brother who painted and became famous for his drawings and sketches during the Romantic period. The museum’s exhibition rooms are located in the historical Palais Bellevue, built in 1714 by Paul du Ry as an observatory for the Hessian Landgrave Karl.
